Fantasy Fest Long Art Prompt #20: The Ugly Duckling and Swan Lake
Title: The Ugly Duckling and Swan Lake (yup, two for the price of one!)
Rating: G
Disclaimer: I don't own the Harry Potter characters. No one owns the Ugly Duckling (except possibly Hans Christian Anderson?) and Tchaikovsky's hardly going to sue from beyond the grave, bless the old fairy.
Prompt: 20 -- g-rated prompt: S is the ugly duckling that becomes a lovely swan when the enchantment is broken by a kiss from R. could also go with a Swan Lake motif, again with S as swan and R as prince

So, first you get this because the damn song wouldn't get out of my head. So quack.

Then we reach my more serious effort.

Ugly duckling Snape totally cracked me up! ^_^ And swan Snape is really beautiful--I especially love the blue highlights. Nice effect with the moon shining on the water, too, and of course Prince Lupin is very handsome!

Now I want to see someone write a Snupin version of Swan Lake!

What beautiful use of coloury stuff (yes, I know all the technical terms!)

I think it's quite in keeping with the original sources that I actually find these pictures really disturbing. Ooh, those scary fairy tales.
And can't hgelp feeling that Lupin isn't keeping safe distance from that willow. Yikes!

There's a technical term for coloury stuff?

It's probably almost as disturbing as the Orangina advert that only comes on late at night and has ... furries. *shudders*

Don't you remember the bit in Swan Lake where Prince Siegfried gets smacked by the Whomping Willow? :)

Firstly, I have no idea about that advert.
Secondly, of course I remember it (she lied) cos you know, if there's one thing I &hearts more than musicals, it's ballet (or opera)
*shudders*

It's a very disturbing advert. It's on youtube here
Dancing human-animal things. *shudders*
Not a ballet fan either? *rolls eyes* Oh dear.

Actually, I didn't find that terribly disturbing. Did snigger a lot at the shiny Bambi's mum prissy poxy little girly patronus dancing with Malfoy's peacocks. Subtext, much?

Reasons to watch ballet:
Well-muscled young men prancing about effeminately.
In tights.
And thongs.
Trust me, I'm watching The Nutcracker right now and that Cavalier has white tights and an even whiter thong.

It's unbelievable distracting.

OK, so the cock and arse aspect is tempting. But you have to endure the prancy-prancy and the bloody music-y bit.
The cost is too high for me!

Your icon is making me giggle like a mad thing.

A very fine swan indeed!

Those fairy tales do lend themselves to interpretation don't they? (Was reading The Twelve Dancing Princesses the other day and wondering whether it was where JKR got the invisibility cloak from.)

Ugly duckling Severus made me think when animagi go wrong. It gave me a good giggle.

Ballet = pantomime to music on a trampoline. :D
Love the details on Swan lake.

Am I odd to like Snape's feathered arse in the second one? ;o) I love his body position and his arms/wings in this too - makes me feel that he's free

Ah, Prince Remus - was the full moon a little nod to his non-lycanthropic nature ;O)

And now you have ME singing that damn song! All together now! "Theeeeere ONCE was an ugly duckingggg........ "
